With the craziness of Christmas, I decided to tone my January decor way down with a cozy neutral palette. I knew I wanted to bring in some natural elements so Steve and I went on a hunt around town. We found some fun structural grass that grows abundantly here in different parks and greenfields. I used Ornamental Grass, Pennisetum and Pink Muhly Grass in one of my arrangments. I wanted whimsical and wispiness and both of these delivered for this arrangement.

After all the faux greenery and picks of Christmas, it was time to bring in some fresh flowers. My favorite is white chrysanthemums and even though the glitz of Christmas is over I wanted to keep it going in these simple arrangments. Just by placing a small glass vase into these candle holders I am able to really bring in the glam! These simple touches when decorating can give your room and vignettes that special touch!

Another way to add coziness is by layering textures. I added this faux sheepskin rug to my coffee table display to soften it and neutralize it. Next, I layered different faux fur pillows on the couch in varying cream tones and then added my favorite throw blanket from Macy’s!

Another way I updated this space is by bringing in my bedroom lamps and placing them on the console table. By relocating my tripod lamps to my front livingroom it changed the whole look of this space. My best tip when decorating any room is to shop your own home first before spending any money. What can you move from one space to another?
In total this room makeover cost under 100.- I think this warm neutral palette will be around for a while!
