WHO IS NICOLE?
Nicole has worked in the Design industry for over 10 years. With an interior design degree, she started out with kitchen and bath remodels as well as model home design. Her experience led her to become a product photographer for a national wholesale home decor company. Her work has been featured on major National Brands websites. After taking time off of work to raise her children, she decided to start a blog and Instagram focusing on Home Decor, DIY, and video tutorials. She is now a top-rated influencer, with great engagement and reach. She creates content for many well-known brands and specializes in product photography.
WHAT INSPIRED NICOLE TO START HER PAGE?
After having her first kid, Nicole was home a lot more and wanted something to do! Her old work had actually asked her to start working on their social media, and she was inspired to start her own kind of social media platform! Her and her family had recently bought 5 acres of farm land and she wanted to document the decor process on the farm. This is where it all began!
HOW DOES NICOLE GET SUCH AMAZING PHOTOS ON HER FEED?

One of the jobs Nicole had before Instagram was to style all of the photoshoots! She worked with a professional photographer who actually took the photos after she styled for years! Just by working with him for so long, she was able to acquire so many amazing tips and tricks for lighting, angles, modes, and so many more things. Nicole started getting really into the photography and would start taking pictures alongside him with her phone. Nicole says that the biggest thing when it comes to photos is editing! You can take an average photo and edit it to look super professional. She loves the Light Room app and says it’s user friendly with lots of great presets. It’s a handy tool she recommends to everyone!
Nicole loves the super inexpensive presets on Etsy! The best advice she ever got was don’t worry so much about how the pictures will look on your feed, worry more about how it’s going to perform on its own! Choose your presets wisely and don’t feel like you have to use just one preset only. You can always tweak something when it comes to editing photos.
HOW DOES NICOLE STAY ORGANIZED DURING SEASONAL DECORATING?

Nicole tries to take all of her seasonal decor photos at one time. When she makes videos or takes photos for a collaboration, she takes the time to do new things and doesn’t have to worry about her seasonal content if it’s already been photographed. Batching content is so important in staying organized and this is such a great tip from Nicole!
A couple of years ago, Nicole made a promise to herself that everything she creates or shares, she does for herself and not Instagram! She wants to do her renovations, projects, and decor for her home and simply share them on her Instagram platform. This also applies to seasonal decor in her home.
HOW HAS NICOLE GROWN SO QUICKLY?
Nicole says she started growing at a quick pace last Christmas when she started posting time-lapse videos. This was before the introduction of REELS. She posted a few 15 second videos of collabs she was doing for Christmas content, and her mantel video went viral and reached 200,000 people. She started posting 1 video a week until she became pregnant again! When she is pregnant, Nicole gets very sick, so her growth started to decline when she had to take a social media break. She went from posting every single day, sometimes twice a day, to maybe once a week and not showing her face a lot. Growth goes up and down! It’s okay if you need a social media break.
Nicole also says that once Reels was introduced, she has grown from 1,000 followers a month to almost 2,000 followers a week! She tries to 3-4 REELS videos per week. Personally, Nicole feels that videos are easier because she doesn’t have to stage an entire room but can focus solely on one table or one piece.
WHAT ARE NICOLE’S TIPS FOR COLLABORATING WITH COMPANIES?

Nicole found that 80% of an influencer’s commission will come from collaborations and 20% will come from swipe ups and LikeToKnow.It. Nicole went to a retreat with 50 other home decor women and learned how to create a media kit including what rates should be used. She was so happy that someone actually shared this info with her! The rule of thumb is about $100 per post for every 10,000 followers. There is definitely money to be made on Instagram, so Nicole would rather take fewer collabs that are super high quality than taking hundreds of free items without any money involved.
Nicole is currently redoing her website and her blog because it generates so much traffic from pins on Pinterest, so people are still seeing it! The companies definitely notice things like that.
