How to Batch your Social Media Content for Success on Instagram
What is Batching Content
Today’s podcast is all about batching content, and I’m giving you tips on what this means and how to get started batching content on your social media! Batching content means planning your content ahead of time in order to be ahead of the game. For me, that means batching and planning content 30 days in advance so I can have one month of content ready to go. For instance, since Christmas starts on home decor blogs in November, I will batch my content for two months because it’s a crazy time of the year. Minimum – I always try to have my photos, DIYs, captions, reels, and more ready within that 30 day cycle.

WHY DO I BELIEVE IN BATCHING CONTENT?
Why do I do this? Well, one of the reasons I have to do this is because I don’t take my own photos. My photographer comes to my home and I will have everything ready and decorated to take photos for 30 days of content! Natalie, my photographer, will come out once a month to shoot photos and videos for an entire month to avoid coming out multiple times. Once I get the photos back, I’ll pull out my planner and look at what days I want to post these beautiful photos! It might sound a bit overwhelming, but trust me… it’s so much better than winging it and being disorganized when it comes to social media content.
HOW EARLY DO I POST FOR HOLIDAYS?
As a decor account, you’re going to be sharing lots of content for the upcoming seasons and holidays, especially those back to back ones in the fall (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). When I first started out as an influencer, I didn’t know the social media timelines and was very lost when I saw other accounts pushing out their content so early! So if you’re a new account, fall starts in September and then back to back holidays to follow.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO START DECORATING FOR THE NEXT HOLIDAY OR NEXT SEASON?
An easy way to think about this is to follow what you see in the decor stores. For instance, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc. When you see new holiday and seasonal decor pop up in stores, that’s a good benchmark for you and your account. As soon as it hits the stores, it’s time for you to start planning your content.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BATCHING CONTENT?
Batching content also allows me to work on other things, including my blog posts, my podcast episodes, and new course content. Right now I have two courses out: Instagram For Decorators and How To Make Money On Instagram, but I have so many ideas that I forget about if I’m constantly working on photos and creative content. That’s the beauty of batching content!
You might be wondering how you’re going to batch your content and may be feeling overwhelmed! No worries, I felt this way, too… but it’s so much easier than you’d think. I really challenge you this week to try it! Grab yourself a cheap planner, and think about what you want to share. Easter is coming up, so you’ll have this weird lag in time between now and then to start planning! It will also make you feel so much better if you have content ahead of time. Good luck!! I’m here to answer any questions if you have any along the way!
